Having just attended our first iron man event in New Zealand, it is easy to see how finding some taupo luxury accommodation can be quite difficult. We were well organized and had booked a place well in advance and I’m glad we did because there was not one single vacancy sign to be seen in the whole town. I knew it was a big event but I had underestimated just how big it was. I’m sure all the locals there must want to hide away with the massive influx of people who seem to take over the town for the entire weekend.
