I am in the middle of making holiday plans for this year (much more cheerful than sitting feeling glum about the weather). I’ve made the most important decision: which country I’m going to. I’ve decided on Egypt, partly because I’ve never been and I know it would be an amazing experience, and partly because my wife keeps dropping hints about how affordable Egypt hotels are at the moment. But the next step (one that she hasn’t given any guidance on!) is where exactly in Egypt do we want to be based? Near the desert (and by that I mean near Cairo, Luxor and all their various wonders) or by the sea (perhaps in Sharm, Dahab or somewhere similar)? Tough choice.
