Before you buy a blue ray writer, you need to decide how you’re going to use it. Some writers are better quality for copying old movies from DVD to the new blue ray format, while other writers are good for recording television shows. I bought my own blue ray writer in order to copy all of my old movies, so I got the highest quality writer that I could find. I can also record television shows with it. However, if you only want to record television shows you can get a less expensive model. If you are not sure, you should probably go with the higher end model and then see what direction you go.
