Many of grew up waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve. As we became adults, we brushed it aside as the fictional tales of childhood. However, Santa Claus is based in truth. In the third century, there was a man named Nick who lived in what is now Turkey. His parents died while he was young, but he went on to sell all his belongings to give money to the poor. He decided to follow God and was known for being generous and giving his possessions to the poor. He later became known as St. Nicholas. St. Nicholas is just one of the names of Santa. Throughout time, his story led to the beliefs that we lead our children to believe about Santa today.
